Modi–Trump Call: Iran Conflict and Trade Talks Take Center Stage

 Prime Minister Modi spoke with Trump, and they discussed the Iran war and trade issues.


After the recent ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran aimed at bringing peace to the Middle East, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump spoke over the phone for the first time. The conversation lasted for around 40 minutes.

Speaking to NDTV, the U.S. Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, shared that the two leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East as well as trade-related matters during the call.

Gor said, “They just ended the call a few minutes ago. The President regularly keeps the Prime Minister updated. He briefed him on the developments in the Middle East, along with some key ongoing issues between the United States and India being discussed in Washington.”

During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi also told Trump, “The people of India love you.”
