A brilliant partnership between Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler helped Gujarat Titans secure a comfortable 7-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in their IPL 2026 match played in Lucknow on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 165 runs, Gujarat Titans lost Sai Sudharsan early for just 15 runs. However, Buttler (60) and Gill (56) steadied the innings with an excellent partnership and kept their team firmly in the game. Later, Rahul Tewatia (10*) and Washington Sundar (21*) calmly guided Gujarat Titans to victory with eight balls to spare.
Earlier in the match, a fiery bowling spell from Prasidh Krishna helped Gujarat Titans restrict Lucknow Super Giants to 164/8 in 20 overs. For LSG, Aiden Markram was the top scorer with 30 runs.
Despite getting decent starts, LSG’s key batters couldn’t convert them into big scores. Rishabh Pant (18), Nicholas Pooran (19), Abdul Samad (18), and Mukul Choudhary (18) all played modest innings.
